First Day of Preschool
Kendall started her first day of K3 yesterday! (pure excitement from Kendall, a little excitement/reluctance from Mommy)
Since Mommy works in the MMO at church/school, and since Kendall attended the MMO for three years, going over to the "kindergarten hall" is a transition Kendall was more than ready for. She's always been the big fish in the little pond. She's still a big fish though the pond just got slightly bigger this year.
And how did she do on her first day??
Well, this was her prayer at lunch after we got home:
Dear God, thank you for all you have given us. Thank you that I could go to kindergarten today. And thank you that I did just fine. Amen

Time For Tea
Yesterday
Kendall, Brielle and Mommy attended a real tea party with two sweet friends, Meredyth and Timberlynn. Mrs. Betsy, Meredyth's mommy, went all out at usual, not cutting one corner. The princesses sipped tea from real tea cups while snacking on flower jelly sandwiches, heart cheese sandwiches and an assortment of delectable fruits and chocolate dipping sauce. It was a royally fun time!

Newborn Pics
A friend, Tina, who lives in New Orleans and takes our family photos every year, drove up to take Brielle's newborn pictures. I was so excited since she always does great work.
Here's a link to her site.

First Bath
Kendall always loved her bath. In fact, Gabe and I longed for bath time to arrive because it was the only thing that quieted her colicy screams every evening for the first twelve weeks.
So of course I was looking forward to Brielle's little cord falling off so she too could get a relaxing soak that would pave the way for sleep.
{Uuuurp. Screaching breaks!}
Not so much...
She doesn't quite like her bath like her sister.
Kendall couldn't wait to help though....
We're going to keep it up every night in hopes that this bathing beauty will come to love her nightly little ritual.
And Kendall, the newest self-proclaimed family photographer, needed to get a few snaps in herself.
She's such a sweet big sis!

Woes of a Drama Queen and a Tired Mommy (During Mommy's First Outings With Two)
Ok. When I get determined in my head about something I'm gonna with all my might see to it that I accomplish it. My mission this past Monday, my first day solo with two, was to make it to Brielle's two week check up on time!! And, friends, I made it on.the.dot. thankyouverymuch. (Never mind I began at 7am to get out the door at 9:10 with every bag, bottle, sippy cup and snack prepared the night before.) Blow the trumpets, roll out the red carpet. I could hear the choir of angels singing as I, super mom, breezed in trying to act like it was no big deal. (It was an academy award winning act, trust me.)
Too bad that for the first time e.v.e.r...we had an hour wait in the waiting room. Seriously? I'm on time and no one noticed. (Come to find out every mama in the county waited until the week before school starts to realize that their child needs five-year-old shots to start kindergarten. Note to self...) I experienced the first of many juggling acts when Kendall had to go to the bathroom. We were clear on one side in the newborn waiting room and the bathroom was clear on the other side which is the "sick" side. No way was I lugging Brielle through the sick kiddos and into the bathroom. But I couldn't just leave her. What was a mama to do? Beg and plead with her three-year-old to hold it. And she did. And as soon as we were called back, preschooler and mommy had to go!
So we made it out on our first venture as a threesome. Now just gotta figure out how in the world to be out the door at 7am twice a week on school mornings!
On to drama queen woes and Walmart...
Our second outing was the next day to Walmart. Mind you we went right after lunch so my elder child was neither famished nor parched as she claimed. She lay down on the floor of the mylecon isle dying of thirst. (Here's where the drama queen antics began in case you missed it.) Totally by accident due to a) I'm sleep deprived and b) she shouldn't have been sprawled out to begin with, the buggy rolled over the tip of her ring finger. I felt awful. Talk about a bad mommy moment. The woman in a motorized scooter next to us heaped on the condemnation by glaring at me like I should be nominated for the loser mommy of the year award for nearly mutilating my helpless child's appendage. Kendall's protesting claims that it was broken didn't help matters. I comforted Kendall, kissed it, apologized, and reminded her why laying on the Walmart floor is not the best course of protest. Finally when she could walk again (I know it's her finger, but when you're three it strangely affects the entire body) we were off to get what little else we needed and get outa there.
I kid you not. Ten minutes later on the toilet paper isle I asked her how her finger was feeling. She thought for a minute, scrunched up her nose with squinted eyes like she does when she's thinking really hard and asked, "Mommy, which finger is it again??"
I rest my case.
