Valentine

For a Valentine treat, Mommy and Kendall went to the movies to see Paddington. (I highly recommend it BTW).   When we came home we found ourselves at a fancy restaurant.  Daddy had been planning an elaborate meal for us since the day before.  First, we were instructed to go to Kendall's room where he had laid out three dresses each for us and choose one to wear.  Then we returned to a candlelit dinner, Daddy dressed in a coat and tie (wearing Mommy's apron), and fancy music playing.

Kendall and Brielle dined on Newk's pizza, and Mommy was treated to her most favorite meal...chicken shwarma from our fave Mediterranean restaurant.  All had been purchased the day before and disguised in a big brown bag in the fridge with instructions to not peek. And thanks to carnival season and my sister's visit the day before, we enjoyed king cake for dessert.

Daddy did an amazing job making all three of his ladies feel extra special.  He's a keeper for sure!

Kendall had fun at her class Valentine party as well  I made the heart shaped cinnamon rolls seen on her plate.  Note to all Pinterest reading mamas: the cute pin instructing to "easily" make heart shaped cinnamon rolls by simply unrolling the raw dough then re-rolling it into a heart shape before baking DOES NOT WORK with Pillsbury cinnamon rolls out the can.  (They don't unroll.  They fall apart.) Just sayin.  But taking a heart shaped cookie cutter to the rolls after they've baked will produce the same results, thus saving the day, and your reputation as a Pinterest Mama Veteran.

Here's Kendall with a few of her close friends this year.

Oh, and Brielle had a party at school, too.  Sorry, Brielle, this is all I got...

Lurve

{I apologize for the delayed post.  We had technical difficulties around here, but we're back up and runnin'!}

Ok, is it possible for a two-year-old to have a c.r.u.s.h? Well if so then there is some major LURVE going on for my BFF's boy, Caleb.  I mean, when she sees him her voice squeals his name about three octaves higher than normal.  Seriously.  And everything he says is hilarious [to her].

A few weeks ago Danielle watched Kendall while I ran a few errands, and this little girl didn't want to come home.  Maybe it's because a FOUR-year-old gave her attention.  Maybe it's just because it's plain fun to play with a new set of toys.  But whatever the reason, she's been all about some Caleb (and Collin and Danielle) lately.  And Caleb really was sweet and displayed much patience with a two-year-old.  Caleb is in my Sunday school class this year, and I just love this boy to pieces.  I can see why Kendall swoons. I probably would too if I were a preschooler.  Caleb, as strong willed as he can be at times, is loving, compassionate and just downright friendly.

The following week it was my turn to watch the boys so Danielle could get some of her stuff done.  We had a blast in the backyard with Sophie, though somehow sharing toys on one's own turn seemed to be slightly more difficult.  sigh...

Sweet Collin...This boy runs at full speed 24/7.

He even put up with all the pinkness.

And Caleb demonstrated how to really climb a tree.  Kendall was enamored.

And this is the LAST time Kendall will be alone with a boy in a tent!

Speaking of LURVE...Kendall loved her Valentine basket.  How did I have such a girly girl??  I love it more than I ever thought I would.  But how?? I wasn't a tomboy by any means, but I wasn't all wrapped up in glitter, jewelry and all the fanciness of a little princess.

She checked out her suckers with her bracelet adorned arms.
One...two...three...four.  Yep, had to count.
See the bracelet.
Time out for a sucker.

Happy Valentines Day, sweet little girl!
