And here are some of my mama descriptions of Kendall.
Kendall...
...has a sensitive heart to others. Recently she brought a classmate's jacket home after it got left behind in carpool because she was afraid if she didn't it would go missing.
...is an old soul. She LOVES classic tv shoes like Leave It To Beaver and I Love Lucy.
...is showing an interest and possible natural ability in music. She loves to watch musicals, tattled at her K4 graduation every time the boy next to her hit a wrong note, and is upset she can't hit the high note her school music teacher can. She loves Lawrence Welk which blends her old soul and music.
...is a Lucille Ball fan!! She's continuously watching episodes of Here's Lucy that we recorded during a recent marathon on some obscure channel. And thanks to that marathon she is now aware of the Lucille Ball festival in Jamestown, NY, and wants to go.
...also wants to go to her first Saints game. Mama's raising her right!
...likes tennis. Recently she took a free tennis clinic lesson that's offered locally twice a year. Maybe Mama will let her take summer lessons.
...is taking ballet lessons again. She likes it but won't show us much of what she learns.
...has a gift for people management and has the fingerprints of a future teacher all over her. She's a great mama and teacher to Brielle and has already perfected her teacher voice. Sometimes Brielle appreciates it, sometimes not.
...loves princesses. Right now her favorite is Elsa from Frozen.
...loves pink and purple as evidenced by her wardrobe.
...swims. She's gotten brave this summer and swim lessons really paid off.
...is learning to like peanut butter despite her mama's aversion. She really WANTS to like it but it's taking some time.
...loves doing artwork.
...can read but won't admit it.
...wants to pray and ask God to give her pixie dust since Santa was a bust on that.
...loves to read. Her kindergarten teacher has yet to produce a book without hearing, "We have that book!" or "I've read that book!" from Kendall.
...compares herself to others too easily! Like the girl in her class that writes the perfect "e" even though there's not one in her name. And the tennis instructor's daughter that was obviously born with a racquet in her hand.
...is slowly but surely making friends at big school and adjusting well.
...refused to write her name with a big K and the rest little letters like her mama said until her teacher said so.
...has hawk eyes and an impeccable memory. She smokes everyone at Memory.
...wants to take piano and violin lessons. Mama said next year.
...lost her two front, bottom baby teeth on the same day and started smiling so the gap would definitely be seen. The grown up teeth had come but the smile remains.
...loves her sister and can't wait til she's a little bigger and can play together better.
...likes to have camp outs in her room with her daddy on Friday nights.
Our firstborn is growing up too quickly. I was warned of this phenomena but recently have experienced it greatly. She's growing to be a young lady who loves the Lord. I pray daily for her that God will continue to draw her to Himself and give her a heart like His. And when I'm a little sad that she's growing so quickly, I remind myself it's just more opportunities to see how God is working in her heart and growing her to be the woman He created her to be.
Happy birthday, Kendall Wendall!! Mama and Daddy love you so much!!

Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?
Put Kendall in summer and she'll be a...
happy birthday girl!!
Kendall had her "Let It Go" (as Brielle would say) birthday party this past weekend. Three sweet friends came, Meredyth, Keely and Hannah. Since Olaf loves all things warm, we had a slip and slide party and made "Olaffles" to eat.
Brielle wasn't gonna miss an opportunity to hang with the big girls.
