My sweet baby is just growing so fast. And it's amazing to see how much she picks up on each and every day. I really want to record all the cute stuff she does and says because I know I'll never remember it on my own.
At twenty months Kendall...
... calls every letter "B". Hey, she knows it's a letter! Except yesterday I bought her some magnetic letters at the dollar store and taught her the O. She proudly holds it up and says, "OOOOOOO!"
... speaking of "says", Kendall is finally ready to say a few words. They've been rattling around in her head, I know, but she just wasn't ready to say them. Her favorite words are "more", "crackers", "bye", "baby" and "bubbles".
... says "Bobby!" all the time. For a few weeks we couldn't figure out who Bobby was since she doesn't know a Bobby. Finally, while watching the video from her first ever Mother's Morning Out presentation, she pointed to her music teacher, Holly, and said, "Bobby!" Mystery solved.
... still eats like a champ, though green vegetables are losing popularity right now, except for green beans.
... has her Mommy's OCD gene! Her new thing is throwing things away. And don't let her see you being a slacker by placing a dirty diaper outside the door with full intentions on walking it to the trash can the next time you head out. She'll call you out on it and INSIST it get thrown away at once. Same for anything else. It works out good in my favor often, though. Like the time last week she dragged out her entire tea party set with all its thousands of pieces and then put it all away on her own. I didn't have to clean up a thing! But it can work to a disadvantage when she swipes the remote from you lap to put it back in the remote holder on the end table. Poor Daddy is going crazy since he is not as insistent as his wife (and now daughter) about putting things away CORRECTLY and IMMEDIATELY when finished.
... waves and says "Bye!" to everyone. She's so friendly.
...LUHVES school! Finally as we approach the last weeks she just loves to go to school. Her teacher used to have to peel her off of me in the mornings, and now she just walks right on in. The other day she was even mad when it was time to leave. I'm so proud at how far she has come in just four months.
... spends all day pointing and labeling everything in the house either "Mommy's" or "Daddy's". All day. Everything.
... loves to sit at the kitchen window and watch Daddy mow the back yard. (By the way, she thinks her Daddy is the coolest thing ever.)
...colors at her table. She's still upset that broken crayon pieces "don't fix", and can't stand for a miniscule crayon wrapper to be among her crayons.(OCD)
... collects rocks, until we get to the car and she has to put them down.
... refuses to ride in a stroller. On nightly family walks, she walks with us. We stop at the same places each trip around the block (one neighbor's front sidewalk steps, one's monkey grass, one's electrical box which makes for a really cool drum, one's rock garden around the mailbox, one's tree stump, and one's car handle since the car blocks the sidewalk). It's becoming a ritual.
... likes the tiger fleur-de-lis decal on the back of Mommy's car. She always points to it and says, "roar!". Good girl!
... has her first BFF. She and her friend, Olivia, are in MMO and church together. They both get so excited to see each other.
... holds her "praying hands" when we pray.
... calls all books "bible".
... gives the best kisses ever.
... fills her Mama's heart with joy every day.
My little girl had a mysterious "Bobby" when she first started talking, too! Only hers was her pacie. I was pretty confused for about a week, though.
ReplyDeleteWhen Josiah was little he called all books a bible. The funniest was when we were at the library and he grabbed one of the paperback romance novels (with the hot and steamy pics on the front) and yelled, "Mommy! You forgot to get a bible!" I heard several sniggers around me for that one. :)
Kendall and Emilia would NOT enjoy coloring together, especially since Emilia spends at least 50% of her time tearing the paper off in little pieces and putting them back in the box. But dont you touch those paper pieces! She's going to use them for "everythin.'"
I feel compelled to point out that the OCD gene came directly through the Lestelle line, as there has never been a Thornton or Wright that suffered such a malady. :)
